Mid-Level Software Tester

Dayton, Ohio
Job Description:

As a Mid-Level Software Tester, you will be responsible for writing and executing test cases to determine validity and functionality of applications and documenting the results of each test case step. You will be responsible for documenting any defects in the defect management system and participating in testing review meetings. You will work individually or within a team to develop and document test scripts. You will execute test cases, maintain defect reports, participate in testing reviews, discuss the results of testing activities, and maintain documentation that requires special attention to detail, grammar, and spelling. You may also be asked to participate in major system testing, including unit, integration, and user acceptance, as well as working with project teams that include stakeholders and presenting to senior management and customer.

A minimum of 3-5 years testing experience is required for this roll.  

While this position is remote, candidates should live in the Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus area for occasional in-person meetings.

Skills:
  • ISTQB Software Testing Certification preferred
  • Test automation experience preferred
  • Transportation Management System (Oracle, etc) preferred
  • API testing experience including transaction and integration testing
  • Strong background in Software Testing process
  • Knowledge of Software Testing fundamentals, techniques, and terminology
  • Work and interact with clients to understand their needs and solve their problems
  • Oral and written communication skills including strong grammar and spelling
  • Superior attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Well organized and able to prioritize and manage time and tasks in fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team Player
  • Effectively and accurately record and submit timesheets as instructed by your manager
  • Honest, highly accountable, and exceptional work ethic
